Empowering learners through understanding
At Clear Path Dyslexia, we provide tailored diagnostic assessments and specialist tutoring for individuals of all ages, ensuring every learner receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.
It is estimated by the British Dyslexia association that nearly 10% of people in the UK could suffer from dyslexia with 4% suffering severely.
Did you know that Dyslexia is not tied to intelligence. Rather, it involves information processing differences, particularly in decoding language, sequencing letters, phonological awareness, and organisational skills. Dyslexia however often gives other skills. Many people with dyslexia are:
Creative Thinkers. Dyslexic people often think outside the box and come up with original ideas. They may excel in areas like art, music, design, storytelling, and innovation.
Big Picture Thinkers. Dyslexic individuals are often holistic thinkers, good at seeing patterns and connections others miss. They are excellent at strategic thinking and problem-solving on a broader scale.
Strong Problem-Solving Skills. Struggling with traditional learning methods often forces dyslexic individuals to develop alternative approaches. This resilience helps them become persistent and adaptable problem solvers.
Verbal Strengths. Many dyslexic people have excellent verbal communication and storytelling skills. They're often persuasive speakers, engaging communicators, and insightful conversationalists.
Visual-Spatial Ability. Dyslexics often excel in 3D thinking and spatial reasoning. This can lead to strengths in architecture, engineering, gaming, design, and mechanics.
Entrepreneurial Talent. A significant number of successful entrepreneurs are dyslexic (e.g., Richard Branson, Steve Jobs). They often have risk-taking abilities, visionary thinking, and a drive to challenge traditional systems.
Empathy and Emotional Intelligence. Many dyslexic individuals develop strong empathy from navigating social or learning challenges. This can make them supportive friends, colleagues, and leaders.
Determination and Resilience. Overcoming barriers in education and work helps dyslexic individuals become more determined and persistent. These character traits are often admired in professional and personal settings.
